Football vs. LSU ‐ Postgame Quotes
“I actually think that was a heck of a football game. I’m really proud
of the way our players competed in
the game. I thought we played hard and physical and we played with a
lot of toughness. It was a very
physical game on both sides. We had a lot of opportunities that we
didn’t take advantage of."

loss to fourth-seeded Florida
Alabama
Head Coach Todd Bramble
“It was a good game. Florida is a great team and I’m just proud of how
our team battled tonight. It was a
very even first half and I think they took the game over a little bit
in the second half, but once they got the
goal, I was proud of how we fought back.

Postgame Quotes
Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban
"Well I'm obviously very pleased and happy with the results and the way
we responded in the second half. It was a little lackluster in the
first half, which is a little bit concerning, but there was a concern
going into the game, and something we tried to fight all week in terms
of guys being focused on what's happening right now, and not being
concerned about the future, and challenging themselves to play and
having the proper respect for the team that we were playing.
Head
Coach Nick Saban and select players - Tennessee week
“There’s nothing really new about the last game other than the fact
that I think the real key in the game was the way we won on the line of
scrimmage, on both sides of the ball. We were able to control the line
of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and that was probably the
difference in the game.
Head
Coach Nick Saban - Mississippi week
“The Vanderbilt game was a tale of two teams. We didn’t play very well
in the first half. I think this is probably a pretty good example of
how average you can be when you don’t do things the way you need to do
them—finish plays, finish blocks, make mental errors, don’t tackle
well. Most of that stuff comes from the mental intensity that you have
going into the game, but I was really pleased with the way the team
responded at halftime.

Postgame
Quotes
Head Coach Nick Saban
“It’s always good to win in the league. We obviously didn’t play our
best football game, especially in the first half. We didn’t have the
mental energy and intensity that we like to have, to play with the kind
of consistency that we need to in order to improve as a team.

Kicks off Fall Camp with Split Practice
"We are certainly excited about getting started and having our team
back here," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. "The outcome of this
season is going to be created by what our players do. What we do, not
what we can do, is what it is all going to come down to. Everyone will
benefit from the team's success, but every individual will be
responsible for what they are supposed to do. That will help develop
the team chemistry, the team attitude and the team success."

Tide's Richardson takes
center stage
“I think last year we didn’t quite form an identity at all or the way
we wanted to form it as a power-running team,” Vlachos said. “That’s
what we are and what we will be. It’s on our shoulders in the offensive
line to take the reins and establish that identity.”

Tide
preparation open dates halved
The Southeastern Conference has released its composite 2011 football
schedule, and this time with no backlash.
“I haven’t heard any negativity,” SEC associate commissioner Charles
Bloom said Thursday.
Alabama quickly balked when last year’s schedule was released, because
the Crimson Tide were forced to play their final six league games
against teams that had open dates the week before. The Tide wound up
3-3 in those games, the lone blemishes of a 10-3 season that culminated
with a 49-7 thrashing of Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl.

easing off the pedal for Alabama in 2011
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- It’s probably not a huge revelation that the Auburn
loss last season gnawed unmercifully at Nick Saban.
Any loss in the Iron Bowl tends to have that effect, and when it’s at
home against the No. 1-ranked team in the country, seeing it slip away
is all the more nauseating.
But what ate and still eats at Saban is the way his Alabama team lost
that game.
In many ways, it was a microcosm of the Crimson Tide’s entire season.
