2-1 loss to fourth-seeded Florida

Alabama Head Coach Todd Bramble

On his team’s 2-1 loss to fourth-seeded Florida on Friday …
“It was a good game. Florida is a great team and I’m just proud of how our team battled tonight. It was a
very even first half and I think they took the game over a little bit in the second half, but once they got the
goal, I was proud of how we fought back. We tried to manufacture a couple of chances at the end to tie it
up again.”
On how hard his defense played Friday, especially in the second half …
“It’s a senior-laden group back there; they’ve got a lot of experience and are very organized. They are
backed by a very good goalkeeper. That group that played in the back for us, they played 90 minutes of
both games, so it was an outstanding effort.”
On keeping his team’s focus after Florida responded with a goal in the first half …
“We’re 21 games into the season now, so we’ve dealt with a lot of adversity along the way. It’s a group
that knows how to play from behind, knows how to play with a lead and credit Florida for answering our
goal as quickly as they did. We just kept it an even game all the way through the first half.”
On what his team will work on in hopes that it can get an NCAA Tournament at-large bid …
“Just continuing to stay sharp. This team has played very, very well the last month. We’ve gotten a lot of
good results and a lot of good performances. The way that we’ve done that is by just focusing on
ourselves, not worrying about who we’re playing next, just trying to get better each performance out. I
think this team has done a good job of that.
