MEN’S BASKETBALL GAME 17 at MISSISSIPPI STATE

Game Notes

        
• Alabama takes to the road for the second time in SEC play on Saturday when it travels to nearby Mississippi State.
• The Crimson Tide heads to Starkville with a 2-0 SEC record and a 13-3 overall mark after handling LSU, 69-53, on Wednesday.
• Alabama used a pair of 9-0 runs to cruise past the Tigers for its fifth straight win.
• The Tide has a pair of true road wins this season with wins over Georgia Tech and Georgia and is 6-2 away from campus this season.
• No. 20/20 Mississippi State continues its homestand after a 62-58 win over Tennessee on Thursday to improve to 1-1 in the league and 14-3 overall.
• After falling to Kansas State on Dec. 17, the Tide
has won its last five games by an average of 18 points.
• UA leads the all-time series between the programs
by a 114-72 margin after sweeping the Bulldogs last
season.
• The Tide’s defense remains one of the top in the
nation by allowing a scant 55.7 points per game this
season, the eighth best average in the nation.
• Only four of UA’s opponents have even reached
the 60-point mark this season and four have failed to
score 50 points.
• UA’s last five opponents, including a Big 12, ACC
and two SEC programs, have averaged 53.4 points per
game against the Tide.
• UA’s 16 opponents have converted on just 36.6
percent of their field goal attempts, the fourth lowest
average in the nation.
• Of UA’s 16 opponents, 10 scored their season low 
to date against the Tide’s defense and only two of UA’s
opponents have scored more than one point per possession against UA.
• Offensively, the unit has started to click and has
scored more than a point per possession in five
