Rebel Chris Thiemann Advances At ITA All-American
TULSA, Okla. – Ole Miss
men’s tennis senior Chris Thiemann advanced to the final round of
singles qualifying at the ITA All-American Championships Tuesday with a
straight set win at the Case Tennis Center.
Thiemann downed
Florida’s Billy Federhofer 6-3, 6-3 to set up a final round meeting
against BYU’s Georgy Batrakov Wednesday at 8 a.m. Chris is
trying to join his brother, Marcel Thiemann, in the main draw, which
begins Thursday.
Sophomore Johan Backstrom lost his second round match to Ben McLachlan of California, 7-5, 6-3.
