Tigers Prepare for Purple Aces
Mizzou Hosts Evansville
Columbia,
Mo.- The Missouri Women’s Basketball team hosts the Evansville Purple
Aces on Monday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on the Mizzou
Sports Network.
LAST TIME OUT
Mizzou welcomed the
North Dakota Fighting Sioux to Mizzou Arena on Dec. 10 for a
doubleheader event with the Men’s Basketball team. The Tigers topped
North Dakota 69-52 after starting the game on a 21-0 run. Senior
Christine Flores recorded 29 points in the contest to match her
career-high. Morgan Eye also matched her career-high, scoring 16 points
in the game.
UP NEXT
The Tigers play two more
contests in Mizzou Arena before opening Big 12 play at Baylor on Jan.
4. Missouri will host Memphis on the 22nd of December and Sam Houston
State on Dec. 30. Moving ahead to Conference play, the Tigers host
Texas Tech on Jan. 7 before heading to Manhattan, Kan. to face Kansas
State on Jan. 11.
SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN
The Tigers will have a special guest on the concourse this week. Santa
Clause will make an appearance at Missouri’s game against
Evansville on Monday, Dec. 19. He will be available for photos and
greetings near the Tiger Team Store. Fans can also gain free admission
to the game by bringing an unused toy to donate to the Toys-For-Tots
program.
SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
The Purple Aces will
close out their non-conference schedule with tonight’s contest.
Evansville started their season with an exhibition win over Oakland
City before entering a four game losing streak. The Purple Aces
recorded their first win of the season over Troy at the Dead River
Company Classic. Evansville is coming to Mizzou off of a 78-69 loss to
UT Martin on Friday. Samantha Heck stands as the leading scorer for
Evansville as she has recorded 124 points on the season so far,
reaching her career-high of 20 points in their contest with UT Martin.
Heck has recorded six consecutive double figure scoring games this
season.

Missouri is 5-0 on
the series with Evansville with the last meeting coming in 2004. The
Tigers earned an 82-66 victory over the Purple Aces to improve to 3-2
on the season.

The
Tigers are 65-27 against Missouri Valley Conference opponents. Mizzou
is undefeated against three schools in the conference, Evansville,
Northern Iowa and Wichita State.
