Missouri Faces Kansas State 

        

Columbia, Mo.— The Tigers head to Manhattan, Kan. on Wednesday (Jan. 11), to take on the Kansas State Wildcats. The two teams will face off at 7 p.m. in Bramlage Coliseum.

 

LAST TIME OUT

The Tigers put up a good fight against Texas Tech on Jan. 7. The Tigers and the Lady Raiders traded baskets for an exciting 40 minutes of basketball that saw the Lady Raiders improving to 14-0 on the season. The Tigers dropped to 10-3 overall, 0-2 Big 12 with the 69-63 loss. Junior Sydney Crafton made a huge impact on the court for the Tigers as she recorded her first career double-double. She tallied 14 pts. and 12 rbs. on the game. Senior Christine Flores tallied 16 points on the game to earn her 50th career double-figure scoring game.

Mizzou will see Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan. before hosting rival Kansas on Jan. 15 at 11:30 a.m. Fans outside of Columbia can catch the Border Showdown on FSN, but if you are in town admission is only $3 for fans who wear gold to the game. Stay tuned to MUTigers.com for more information.  Jan. 18, Missouri will head to Texas A&M for a contest against the Aggies at 7 p.m. before hosting Oklahoma  State on Jan. 21 at Mizzou Arena.

 

SCOUTING KANSAS STATE

Receiving votes in the AP Top 25 and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, Kansas State holds an 11-3 overall record on the season, and the Wildcats are undefeated in Conference play. Kansas State is coming off of a victory over in-state rival, Kansas, and the team looks to continue its seven-game home win streak. Brittany Chambers and Jalana Childs lead the Wildcats, averaging 16.5 and 15.2 points per game. Both Mariah White and Tasha Dickey have recorded 30 or more steals for Kansas State this season.

 

SERIES HISTORY WITH KANSAS STATE

Missouri is 35-44 against the Wildcats in program history. The two schools first meeting came about in 1976. Missouri dropped 85-41 to Kansas State. Last season the Wildcats snagged a a 60-55 overtime victory over Mizzou at Mizzou Arena. The Wildcats also topped the Tigers 66-63 in Manhattan. The Tigers’ last victory over Kansas State was in 2009 in a 52-43  win in Columbia.  Mizzou has not won at Bramlage Coliseum since Feb. 1, 2006 when the Tigers won 66-65.

 

BIG 12 CONFERENCE HISTORY

Missouri is 254-301 in Big Eight/Big 12 series history. The Tigers have winning records over several conference foes including Iowa State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
