Missouri Faces Iowa State on Tuesday
Tigers Look for Second Conference Victory

Mo.-- The Tigers will face The Iowa State Cyclones on Tuesday,
Feb. 21 in Ames, Iowa. This is the second meeting for the two teams
this season. The Tigers and the Cyclones will face off at 7 p.m. in
Hilton Coliseum.

Missouri
Women’s Basketball earned its first conference victory on Saturday
(Feb. 18) in Allen Fieldhouse. The Tigers topped the Jayhawks, 70-65,
to improve to 11-14 overall this season and 1-13 in Big 12 play. Mizzou
shot 57.4-percent against Kansas to earn the best field goal percentage
since 2005 when Mizzou shot 58.5-percent against Southern Illinois. The
Tigers’ win also improves Mizzou’s lead in the M&I Bank Border
Showdown Series to 15.5-1.5. The Tigers were led by senior Christine
Flores who put up 24 points in the contest. Both Sydney Crafton and
Kyley Simmons recorded 13 points each to give the Tigers a boost as
well.
UP NEXT
Mizzou is back in Columbia to
host Kansas State on Feb. 25th at 12 p.m., and the Longhorns will come
to Mizzou Arena on Feb. 28th. The Tigers will travel to Oklahoma State
on March 3 to close out the regular season. The Big 12 Championship
will be held from March 7-10 in Kansas City, Mo.
SCOUTING THE CYCLONES
Iowa
State has won its past two games against both Oklahoma and
Kansas. The Cyclones started conference play on a six-game losing
streak before earning a win over Texas Tech. ISU is now 7-7 in
conference play with wins coming over Kansas State, Oklahoma State and
Texas. All-America candidate Chelsea Poppens leads the Cyclones,
averaging 14.6 points per game and shooting 51.8 percent this season.
SERIES HISTORY WITH IOWA STATE
Missouri is 46-27 in the series against Iowa State. The two teams met
last year on March 5 at Mizzou Arena, and the Tigers pulled out a 49-48
victory over the Cyclones. Previously in the season Mizzou had fallen
to Iowa State 71-56 at Hilton Coliseum. The two teams first met in
1977, and the Tigers topped the Cyclones 83-36. Mizzou’s last victory
in Hilton Coliseum was in 2004. The Cylones visited Mizzou Arena
earlier this season, bringing home a 65-52 win over the Tigers.
BIG 12 CONFERENCE HISTORY
Missouri is 255-312 in Big Eight/Big 12 series history. The Tigers have
winning records over several conference foes including Iowa State and
Oklahoma State.
