Florida's David Triassi Named Academic All-District IV First Team

Triassi (Jacksonville, Fla.) has been honored on the Academic
All-District IV First Team by the Capital One Academic All-America®
program, presented by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of
America), announced Thursday. Triassi is now eligible for the Capital
One Academic All-America® ballot.
Triassi
graduated cum laude from the University of Florida last spring, earning
his Bachelor’s in finance with a 3.88 cumulative GPA. He is currently
pursuing a master’s degree in entrepreneurship with a 3.83 cumulative
GPA.
Triassi is the reigning SEC Indoor Champion
in the men’s weight throw (21.59m/70-10) and a First Team All-America
in the event in 2013. The Gator senior is second all-time at UF in the
weight throw and third in program history in the hammer throw outdoors
(61.54m/201-11). Triassi was a member of the 2012 USTFCCCA All-Academic
Team as a junior.
Triassi is just the sixth Gator
men’s track & field athlete to be honored by the CoSIDA
All-Academic program and only the second back-to-back winner in program
history alongside Steve Zieminski in 2004 and 2005. Triassi earned a
spot on the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll in 2010 and SEC Spring
Academic Honor Roll in 2011 and 2012.
