LADY BULLDOGS HOST MVSU IN SPECIAL 12 P.M. TIP WEDNESDAY
STARKVILLE,
Miss. – Mississippi State fans can start the Thanksgiving holiday with
some hoops as the Lady Bulldog basketball team hosts Mississippi Valley
State in a special 12 p.m. tip Wednesday afternoon at Humphrey Coliseum. The
game will be broadcast on WKBB-FM 100.9 and WXWX-FM 96.3 in Tupelo. The
contest will also be broadcast via live video and audio to Maroon to
the Max subscribers. Fans can follow Mississippi State

Sharon Fanning-Otis’ squad returns home with a 3-1 record following a
setback to defending national champion and sixth-ranked Texas A&M. The
Lady Bulldogs were paced in scoring for the fourth-straight game by
Diamber Johnson. Johnson continues to lead the SEC with a 19.8 ppg
scoring average. The Pontotoc, Miss., native notched 14 points against
the Aggies, giving her 12-straight games in double figures going back
to the last season. Fellow senior Porsha Porter also
tallied 12 points in Sunday’s contest to bring her season average to
12.3 ppg. The Chicago native has also been stellar on the defensive end
of the court, tallying an SEC-best 19 steals (4.8 per game). Freshman
Martha Alwal has also made her presence known on defense, topping the
conference with 11.8 rebounds while rating second in the league with
4.3 blocks per game. The Lady Bulldogs will be meeting
Mississippi Valley State for the 16th time in program history, with the
Maroon & White holding a 13-2 advantage that includes 12-straight
wins. This season’s Delta Devilettes boast a 1-2 record
with losses to Marquette and Nebraska and a win against Concordia
College (Ala.). Ka’Neshia Smith and Alia Frank pace
Mississippi Valley State in scoring with 11.3 ppg each. De’Kisha Fondon
tops the Delta Devilettes on the boards with a 6.7 per-game average.
