Joker Phillips at Kentucky and Charlie Strong at Louisville, this marks
the first time in college
football history that two African-American coaches at BCS schools have
played in a season opener.
- Derrick
Locke rushed 23 times for 104 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns
for the first time in his career. He now has 1,835 rushing yards in his
career and ranks 7th on
UK’s all-time rushing list. He needs 270 more to tie Artose
Pinner (1999-02) for 6th place.
- Randall
Cobb rushed four times for 80 yards and was 1-for-1 for 19 passing
yards in the “WildCobb” formation. He also caught two
passes for 19 yards as a receiver.
