TEXAS A&M SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
COLLEGE
STATION, Texas-- The much anticipated 2012 Southeastern Conference
football schedule was announced today and the Texas A&M portion of
the schedule was announced by new head football coach Kevin Sumlin in a
video announcement that can be found at AggieAthletics.com.
"I
am very excited about playing in the best division and in the best
conference in the country," Aggie coach Kevin Sumlin said. "The 12th
Man set a home attendance record in 2011 and I know they will be in
full support again next fall, both at home and on the road." The
Aggies will officially join the SEC on July 1, 2012 and will compete in
the Western Division of the league. A&M will open the 2012 season
at home on Sept. 1 against McNeese State and the SEC portion of the
schedule will open at Kyle Field on Saturday, Sept. 8 as the Florida
Gators visit College Station. The other SEC teams coming to Kyle Field include LSU on Oct. 20 and Missouri on Saturday, Nov. 24. Texas
A&M will be the home team against Arkansas on Saturday, Sept. 29 at
a site to be determined. The SEC office stressed that the 2012 schedule
is not based on any other previous or future scheduling formats. One
other non-conference contract that has been signed is a road game
against SMU on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Ford Stadium on the SMU campus. Games are still subject to change to accommodate television. 2012 TEXAS A&M FOOTBALL SCHEDULE (As of Dec. 28, 2011) Sept.
